Best Grilling Pork Recipes for Beginners

Feeling like a little Italian food in the middle of summer? You do not want to heat up the house so you decide to cook out. You will enjoy the grilled pork parmigiana.

What you will need:
1 pork tenderloin, butterflied and pounded thin
1/3 cup of flour
½ teaspoon of salt
½ teaspoon of seasoned salt
3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
3 cups of homemade or bottled Marinara sauce
2 cups of Mozzarella cheese, shredded
¾ cups of Parmesan cheese, shredded
To prepare recipe:
Preheat your grill to 350 degrees. Spray a 2 quart tinfoil pan with nonstick cooking spray. Mix flour, garlic salt and seasoned salt together in a bowl or on a plate. Take the pork and roll in the mixture and cover both sides. Next saute the pork in the EVOO on both sides until browned. Remove pork and drain.
Now you want to cover the bottom of the pan with 1 ½ cups of the Marinara sauce. Sprinkle 1 cup of the Mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce. Now take the pork and place on top of the cheese. Sprinkle ½ cup of the Parmesan cheese over the pork. Pour remaining 1 ½ cups of Marinara sauce over the pork and the entire inside of the pan. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup Mozzarella cheese and ¼ cup of Parmesan cheese over the top.
Cover with tinfoil and grill for 30 to 40 minutes. When the cheese is melted and bubbly the meal will almost be done grilling. Now take the tinfoil off and let it brown slightly for about 5 to 7 minutes on the grill.
This grilled meal tastes excellent with a salad, toasty garlic bread and your favorite pasta. Use wheat pasta for an extra healthy meal.
Once your stomach has rested enjoy some summertime dessert! You can prepare watermelon sherbet ahead of time to enjoy for a refreshing and mouthwatering treat for you and your family.
Watermelon Sherbet
What you will need:
2 cups instant dry milk (Carnation preferred)
1 cup whole milk
½ cup cold water
2 envelops of gelatin
¾ cup sugar
2 cups ripe watermelon, pureed
1 small bunch of mint
Red food coloring
To prepare recipe:
Stir the dry milk into the liquid whole milk. In cold water you want to soften the sugar and gelatin. Pour into the milk mixture. Cook over low heat and make sure you stir constantly until both the sugar and gelatin are dissolved. Let mixture cool down. Now puree the watermelon in a blender until you have 2 cups. Add enough food coloring until pink. Place in a tray or a mold and refrigerate. Once the mixture is firm, unmold and serve immediately. If you are feeling fancy you can garnish the watermelon sherbet inside of a watermelon basket with watermelon balls and mint leaves. This recipe makes 10 to 12 servings.
