Pork shanks are half the price of lamb shanks and, in my humble opinion, very underrated. The meat is quite tough so does require that slow roasting on a low heat, but once it's in the oven that's it for a while and the preparation is minimal.

Slow Roast Pork Shank with Red Wine Jus
Pork shanks are half the price of lamb shanks and, in my humble opinion, very underrated. The meat is quite tough so does require that slow roasting on a low heat, but once it's in the oven that's it for a while and the preparation is minimal.
Low Fat Tiramasu
Tiramisu means "pick me up" in Italian as this dessert contains coffee to wake you up after your meal! I love Tiramisu, but it's simply calorific. An average serving contains between 600 and 1440 calories!* Sounds ridiculous, but if you consider the traditional recipe contains cream, mascapone cheese, eggs, booze and sugar.... yes, it's rather naughty, but seriously, 1440 calories? That's three quarters of the calories you require for one day!
