Sometimes it is fun to go back in time and pull out the recipes from the past. This article is all about old-fashion salads that are just as tasty today. As those of you who follow my blogs know, I was born and raised in Indiana where there is a substantial Amish presence. And let me tell you, those Amish know how to cook. Here is my version of an Amish Potato Salad that I think you will enjoy. Coming from families with heart disease and diabetes, we learned of the nutritional power of walnuts. Add these healthy walnuts to your Waldorf salad, as I do. My late mother loved cream cheese and pineapple. I love pears, nuts, and maraschino cherries. We combined our 'likes' into a salad to please us both. I hope you enjoy the Blushing (from the cherries) Pears!
