Breakfast, also known as 'Nashta' in India, is most important meal of the day that provides energy for day long work. Breakfast is generally a heavy meal throughout India, although the breakfast menu varies from region to region. Out of a variety of regional recipes available as breakfast, few recipes have become trademarks for the respective region of their origin. Renowned traditional breakfast recipes from north are 'Parratha variants' and 'Chana Batura'; breakfast in south means 'Dosa Variants' and 'Idli/Vada Sambhar'; west has its own favorites like 'Poha' and 'Upma'; and east prefers 'Aloo Puri' in the breakfast. English breakfast like 'Bread Jam', 'Bread Omelette' and 'Bread Toast' has also made their place in regular breakfast menu all across the country.
